MADE IN CHINA JOURNAL

INSIGHTS ON CHINESE POLITICS AND SOCIETY

The Made in China Journal (MIC) is an Open Access biannual publication dedicated to all facets of politics and society in mainland China and the Sinophone world at large.

MIC first began in 2012 as a monthly newsletter aimed at spreading awareness of labour issues in China among Italian trade union officials. In 2016, as the editorial board grew to include more activists and early-career researchers, the newsletters was reimagined as a proper journal with the current broader focus.

    About the Journal

The Made in China Journal’s original focus was on labour rights in China. The publications founded on the belief that spreading awareness of the complexities and nuances underpinning socioeconomic change in contemporary Chinese society is important, especially considering how in today’s globalised world Chinese labour issues have reverberations that go well beyond national borders. Since then, the publication’s scope has expanded to encompass politics and society in China and the Sinophone world at large.
